Open for Registration
The 2026 WARA Robotics challenge is inspired by assembly and logistics scenarios at Volvo, involving tasks such as precision and flexible pick-and-place and safe navigation in crowded environments. The challenge highlights Physical AI as a key direction for developing integrated perception–action capabilities in real-world settings, while remaining open to alternative and complementary approaches.
Participants will begin by developing and testing their solutions in simulation using open-source tools and virtual assets from WARA Robotics partners, before moving on to real-world testing with industrial robots, mobile platforms, and sensors at Volvo CampX. Project demonstrations will take place on December 2–3, 2026.
More information about the challenge, including detailed tasks, available tools and infrastructure (both virtual and physical), and participation guidelines, will be provided on this page in the coming weeks. We encourage interested participants to already register and indicate their areas of interest through this form. Early registrations will help us better shape the challenge and align it with the interests and expertise of the participating teams.
